Shani Weiss – A Voice Forged in Fire, Rising into Light

From the vibrant heart of Melbourne emerges Shani Weiss, a folk-rock storyteller, multi-instrumentalist, and singer-songwriter who transforms every song into a mirror of the human spirit. Her music is not mere melody: it is confession, it is courage, it is the raw pulse of existence wrapped in sound.

Her story began with All About Life, a debut single that did more than introduce her voice—it sold out the legendary Espy, igniting a journey that soon crossed borders. International airplay, a place on the Europe Indie Charts, and support from stations like Southern FM and Joy FM confirmed what audiences already knew: Shani’s voice is rare, fragile yet unbreakable, tender yet unyielding.

Her follow-up single, What’s Left, carried that flame further, winning over listeners and media alike with undeniable force.

Now, with her third release Feel Alright (August 8), Shani steps into her brightest moment yet. A vintage pop-folk anthem, accompanied by a vibrant and authentic music video, it radiates hope born out of hardship, joy carved from shadows, and warmth that refuses to fade.

Her achievements tell only part of the story:

  • Artist of the Month on both Melbourne Musicians and Oz Music Festivals playlists.

  • Two-time winner of the Outstanding Achievement of the Year Award from The Real Songwriters of Melbourne (RSOM).

  • Semi-finalist in the Listen Up Music Songwriting Prize.

Beyond the spotlight, Shani shines a light on others. As the host of Indie Spotlight Melbourne on J-Air Radio (88FM), she champions emerging voices and celebrates the creative heartbeat of her city.

But the truest essence of Shani Weiss lies within Feel Alright.

The Song – “Feel Alright”

It was born out of chaos.
Shani was pregnant, exhausted, and crushed beneath the weight of loneliness. The world felt broken, uncertain, painfully out of tune. And in the middle of that silence, someone saw her. Truly saw her.

A year after a radio interview, a presenter from that same show reached out again. Against all odds, in the whirlwind of a busy program, he insisted on bringing her back. She couldn’t understand why. She couldn’t see what he saw. But he did — her music, her spirit, her worth. That simple gesture lit a spark in the dark.

Feel Alright is a hymn of gratitude to those unseen heroes who choose to see us. It is a celebration of the quiet, transformative power of presence. Of the moment when someone stays, looks at you, and says: “It’s going to be alright.”

Because sometimes, all it takes is one person.
One hand to lift you.
One voice to remind you who you are.
One gaze to return the courage to sing again.

✨ This November, with the release of her debut EP All About Life at The Toff in Town, Shani is preparing to unveil her most powerful work yet: a night of full-band brilliance, overflowing energy, and music that doesn’t simply end—it stays, etched in memory.
