From silence and solitude to one of the year’s most intimate albums
In the dead of Swedish winter, while most people searched for warmth, Elma did the opposite—she exiled herself. Not to escape, but to confront. She packed lightly: a keyboard, an SM7B mic, her laptop, and 45 handwritten journals—pages of memory, heartbreak, wonder, and doubt. Destination: the southern coast of Sweden. A summer town, now empty and frozen in time.
She wasn’t chasing inspiration. She was surviving.
Each day she ran along storm-swept beaches, the wind crashing against her skin like some ancient force. And each night, she poured a glass—or a bottle—of wine to soften the sharp silence. To make peace with the dark. To face herself. There were no producers, no co-writers, no distractions. Only the storm outside, and the storm within.
From this isolation, a spark emerged. What began as a personal retreat slowly transformed into a creative awakening. And what she brought back to Stockholm wasn’t just music—it was truth.
“In Terms Of You” – A Confession in Melody
On June 13th, Elma unveils her first single: “In Terms Of You.”
Written. Performed. Produced. Entirely by her.
This isn’t just a debut. It’s a soul being laid bare. A bold introduction to the most personal project of her life: her first fully self-produced album, coming in fall 2025.
There’s no label polish here. No sonic safety nets. Just raw emotion carved into rhythm and melody. If you’ve ever been moved by the intimacy of Daniel Caesar, the elegance of Leon Thomas, or the soulful melancholy of Snoh Aalegra—then Elma might just become your next obsession.
The Journey So Far: From Global Stages to Her Own Sound
Though this is her debut as a solo producer, Elma is far from a newcomer. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, she’s been a creative force behind the scenes for years. She’s penned music for some of Sweden’s biggest stars and toured the world as part of Zara Larsson’s band—opening stadiums for none other than Ed Sheeran.
She’s shared studios with Loreen, and appeared as a featured artist on Mwuana’s latest album—one of Sweden’s most streamed rappers, with over 100 million plays to his name.
She’s been nominated for Best Hip-Hop/R&B at the GAFFA Awards, and for R&B/Soul Artist of the Year at the Manifest Gala. Every part of the industry knows her talent. But now, for the first time, Elma is stepping fully into her own light.
No filters. No compromise. Just Elma.
The Sound of Vulnerability Reclaimed
There’s something magnetic about an artist who doesn’t ask for permission. Elma doesn’t try to fit a mold—she breaks it quietly, with grace and intensity. Her music isn’t loud, but it echoes. Her lyrics don’t scream—they whisper truths you didn’t know you needed to hear.
“In Terms Of You” isn’t just a love song. It’s a snapshot of a soul in motion. A woman learning to carry her past without being crushed by it. A mirror for anyone who's ever loved too deeply, or lost too silently.
This is not fast music. It’s felt music.
Fall 2025: The Season of Arrival
What comes next is the full picture. Her debut album—self-produced from start to finish—will drop in the fall of 2025. It’s more than a collection of songs. It’s a personal revolution. The sound of a woman claiming every part of her story, and turning it into art.
There’s something timeless about artists who emerge from the edge of themselves. And that’s where Elma went—to the brink. To the solitude. To the winter. And somehow, she came back not frozen—but on fire.
