In a world addicted to distraction—where time slips away between screens and notifications—there’s a band making noise, the good kind, to remind us why music still matters. The Radio Addicts aren’t just a young indie rock band; they are the raw, pulsing voice of a generation desperate to feel something real again.
Since the spring of 2024, these young musicians have been playing indie rock & roll like it’s their only lifeline. And maybe it is. In just over a year, they’ve accomplished what many dream of in a decade: opening festivals, selling out venues, crashing radio airwaves in both the UK and the US, and racking up hundreds of thousands of views online. But beyond the numbers, what truly sets The Radio Addicts apart is their essence: they play with their whole hearts—unfiltered, fearless, and ferociously human.
Their debut single, “Scroll My Life Away,” set to be released on June 13, 2025, is a 3-minute-and-40-second emotional explosion, bursting with the angst and boredom of youth. It's an honest mirror and a self-critique of missed opportunities and wasted time spent staring at a phone screen, endlessly scrolling. In an age of distraction, The Radio Addicts are urging us to snap out of it—and feel.
Radio DJs who got an early listen didn’t hold back on the comparisons: the fury of Buzzcocks, the snarling edge of Johnny Rotten, the unapologetic attitude of a young Liam Gallagher. Others pointed to the raw, early energy of Manic Street Preachers, the crowd-pleasing charisma of The Lottery Winners, and the stage presence reminiscent of Robbie Williams. It’s an explosive cocktail of authenticity and showmanship that cannot be faked.
Their story is already the stuff of indie legend. They opened the Glaston-Bury Festival with crowds queuing outside to get in. They’ve sold out merch three times over. They’ve been photographed with The Lottery Winners, who didn’t just wear their shirts—they invited frontman Luke to play guitar on stage during their hit “UFO” at their hometown show in Leigh in March 2025. In December 2024, The Radio Addicts were photographed with Revivalry (young rockers from the main stage of Kendal Calling), with both bands hailed as “the next generation of music talent.”
They’ve also appeared on the front pages of The Bolton News and The Manchester Evening News, where Luke was photographed backstage with Bruce Springsteen, just moments before The Boss took the stage. Their reputation has grown not through flashy gimmicks or viral stunts—but through relentless passion, undeniable talent, and a love for the stage that’s impossible to ignore.
Before the single has even dropped, it’s already in rotation on a U.S. radio station—so beloved that it was played back-to-back during its first airing. In the UK, it’s been played across countless local and regional stations and echoes through the stadium speakers at every Bolton Wanderers home game. The band has been giving interviews, playing live on air, and saying yes to every opportunity. Their commitment is so real, they’ve even skipped school to make it to a drivetime radio slot. If that’s not dedication, what is?
And they’re just getting started. After the June release of Scroll My Life Away, a second single is coming in September, followed by a debut vinyl EP in November and an EP launch show at Wax and Beans. In the meantime, they’ll continue to play, to connect, and to grow—on their own terms, at full volume.
Gritty guitars, vulnerable lyrics, and choruses that beg to be screamed with your eyes closed. The Radio Addicts aren’t here to entertain you. They’re here to wake you up. In a world of filters and empty clicks, they are the sound of something that still matters. Something real. A reminder whispered—or shouted—into your headphones:
You’re alive. Feel something. Do something. Stop scrolling. Start living.
